200kg cannon

Police are investigating the theft and subsequent recovery of an historic cannon from Dingley Dell Conservation Park, near Port MacDonnell.

Police said between September 22 and October 6 a large historic cannon from a sailing ship was removed from the Dingley Dell Conservation Park.

The cannon weighs in excess of 200 kilograms and would have required equipment to steal.

Overnight on Thursday Limestone Coast police located the cannon in Glencoe, with enquiries continuing regarding the theft.
