45 years of quality Murray Greys

THE Grant family’s Lindsay Murray Grey stud will hold its annual production sale on Tuesday, 25 February.

2025 marks the Grant’s 16th sale and the 45th consecutive sale under the Lindsay brand.

After years of selection and high investment in their Murray Greys, the Grants have produced cattle that meet expectations, are truly valued as serious commercially relevant types, are a pleasure to manage, yet profitable and productive.

After enduring a challenging 2024 season, the Grants’ Murray Grey herd has proven to be adaptable to testing environmental conditions, then rebound and thrive in favourable times.

They consistently strive to either breed or source outstanding genetics to keep improving the standard of their herd and that of their clients, most recently purchasing three new bulls from WA in 2024 – Monterey T-Bone $25,000, Southend TNT $12,500 and Monterey Sensational $10,000.

All Lindsay cattle are reared and prepared on grass, no self-feeders or irrigation, endure a dry summer and co-graze with a large sheep flock, reflecting true commercial conditions.

Along with all health guarantees offered, all bulls have been DNA sire verified and SNP tested.

The Grants also perform DNA and SNP testing on all retained and sale stud heifers to ensure complete transparency and predictability for their clients.

All sale bulls are offered with comprehensive health assurances, ear notch tested free of Pestivirus and part of the Zoetis STAR breeder program, which includes up to date vaccinations to prevent BVDV (Pestivirus), Vibriosis and 7in1, including Leptospirosis. Vaccinated with Multimin and drenched with Eclipse.

Lindsay is also offering six PTIC stud heifers and 20 PTIC commercial heifers, with terrific breeding ready for Spring calving to Lindsay Top Gun T51.

These excellent, well presented heifers will be delivered free of charge or offered with a $100 delivery rebate.

The aim at Lindsay is to always produce market-focused Murray Greys to enhance the profile of the breed and improve the profitability of clientele.

Selection criteria is focused on type and structure first and foremost, and then above average breedplan performance.

Sale catalogues are available in the Nutrien Casterton branch and also online.
