Partners continue to share Pioneer passion

The Mount Gambier Pioneers Basketball Club and OneFortyOne are pleased to announce their extended partnership for the 2022 and 2023 NBL1 South seasons.

The local forestry and timber company continues as naming rights partner for the Pioneers’ women’s program.

OneFortyOne Jubilee Sawmill general manager Paul Hartung said OneFortyOne is looking forward to the new season and working together to expand the partnership.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with the Pioneers and looking forward to seeing the team back on court in action this season,” he said.

“It’s been a tough couple of years with many start and stops and sadly an early end to the 2021 season.

“We are hoping that as vaccination levels increase and borders open up, the Pioneers will get an uninterrupted season in the NBL1.”

This season OneFortyOne and the Pioneers are working together off court as well, with Grant High School and the LifeChanger program.

“We are planning a day together with coaches, players, mentors, facilitators and most importantly the kids of Grant High to celebrate the LifeChanger program finishing up 2021,” Hartung said.

“It has been a privilege to be involved in the program which does such great work for youth to help the young students learn skills to help deal with life’s challenges.

“We share the Pioneers’ commitment to our community and value the opportunity to join forces and contribute to programs like LifeChanger which make a real difference.”

Mount Gambier Pioneers Basketball Club president Tom Kosch said he was excited the partnership with OneFortyOne was continuing for the next two years

“OneFortyOne have been tremendous partners during the last two challenging years,” he said.

“As a company they continue to demonstrate their commitment to the Mount Gambier community.

“We are eagerly looking forward to a full year of basketball and the partnership we have with OneFortyOne that supports our Women’s program.”
