The 400 contractors and employees of the Kimberly-Clark Australia Millicent Mill have been asked by the company to consider making donations to Red Cross relief efforts in Ukraine.

The USA Kimberly-Clark Corporation has established a global employee giving program through the International Federation of the Red Cross and donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Kimberly-Clark Foundation.

The world-wide company is also donating $1m in financial aid and health and hygiene products to support active humanitarian efforts both in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries to support refugee relief efforts.

This includes a donation of $500,000 from the Kimberly-Clark Foundation to the Red Cross, as well as $500,000 in in-kind donations of essential products, including Huggies, Kotex, Kleenex, Depend and K-C Professional.

A statement from the company said it was saddened by the war in Ukraine and was imposing sanctions on Russia.

“Our hearts go out to our colleagues in the country, some of whom are among those displaced by the war,” read the Kimberly-Clark statement.

“At this time, our overriding focus is to continue doing everything possible to support their safety and well-being.

“In Russia, we have implemented significant adjustments to our business. We stand firmly with the people of Ukraine and the international community in calling for a peaceful resolution to this war.”
