Gallery showcases region

Bordertown’s Walkway Gallery is pleased to announce a new public art project in partnership with the Federal Government’s Regional Arts Fund, Country Arts SA and Regional Arts Australia – the Billboard Project.

The Billboard Project reaches beyond the Walkway Gallery’s four walls to share thought provoking contemporary art and to promote the Tatiara, and the Limestone Coast as a creatively rich region.

Walkway Gallery director Naomi Fallon said the project would help showcase the region.

“Each billboard will not only act as wayfinding signage for the Walkway Gallery, but a temporary gallery for two artists,” she said.

Ms Fallon said artists could submit a draft proposal outlining their idea by August 1, with artists notified by 12 August.

Each billboard will launch in October 2022 and will be displayed for approximately 6-9 months.

The gallery will also generate extensive digital content to engage with the public with the art on view and hope to present a series of public virtual programs with audience Q&A.

Artists are invited to submit a design for consideration with proposals now.

Contact the Walkway Gallery for further details on 8752 1044.
