Arange of mental health support services and wellbeing programs for those working in the state’s music industry will be rolled out over the coming months thanks to a $250,000 grant provided to Support Act by the South Australian Government.
Support Act is the music industry’s charity, delivering a range of support services and programs to musicians, managers, crew and music workers who are doing it tough.
Working in conjunction with Music SA, Support Act has developed a schedule for their upcoming mental health and wellbeing programs, which will begin later this month.
This will ensure South Australian musicians and music workers have access to range of industry-specific prevention, education and training programs including free Mental Health First Aid training, First Nations mental health and wellbeing workshops, Workplace Wellbeing Check-Ins, financial wellbeing workshops, sexual health and safety training, and much more.
It will also ensure South Australian music industry professionals can continue accessing the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline – a free, confidential phone counselling service that is staffed by psychologists with direct experience of working in music and the arts.
