Housing sought for health professionals

The search is on to find accommodation for three health professionals who will be joining the staff of Millicent and District Hospital in the coming weeks.

Hospital executive officer/director of nursing Michelle de Wit said eight graduate registered nurses would be working at the facility as part of their Transition to Professional Practice Program.

She said the year-long program was arranged by the Limestone Coast Local Health Network.

Ms de Wit said three of the nurses were yet to find places to stay.

The Millicent and Surrounds Health Support Group is assisting with the search for accommodation.

Millicent Hospital does have on-site quarters for student nurses and the basic facilities are being upgraded by the Millicent Health Advisory Council.
