The popular Salvation Army thrift shop in Millicent resumed trading again on Tuesday morning after three months of being closed.
Its rented Glen Street shop closed in February due to staffing difficulties.
It has reopened with a group of 10 volunteers and church members with trading from Tuesday to Friday.
During the closure, the rented premises were repainted by Millicent/Mount Gambier corps leader Tim Frost.
“We got permission from the owner of the building to paint it but not with psychedelic colours,” Mr Frost said.
“We found a light blue paint for the floor and the walls and this has worked out well.
“The lay-out of the shop has been opened up and there is a better flow.
“If we get enough volunteers, we will open on a Monday as well.
“There has been a lot of anticipation about reopening the Millicent store as it sells affordable clothes, household items and furniture.
“The profits go towards the social welfare activities in Millicent.”
