WBFL B grade grand final

B Grade
The Reserves grand final offered up the most thrilling match of the day as Millicent and West Gambier battled out an absolute thriller, with the Saints clinching a narrow victory with a final score of 52 (7.10) to West Gambier’s 51 (8.3).

Millicent started slow, trailing by 12 points after the first quarter but made an impressive comeback throughout the game.

By half time the scores were level with Millicent having an impressive second term.

West Gambier had a strong start in the second half as it got back out to an eight point lead going into the final term.

As the match was fast coming to a conclusion it seemed as if West Gambier would hang on, however a Millicent goal levelled the scores and threw the result up in the air.

Millicent got one last attack attempting to get the goal to avoid extra time, the Roos felt the pressure and conceded a rush behind, which was followed by the siren.

The final moments of the match were heart-pounding, with Millicent securing the win by a solitary point.

West Gambier’s Jordy Coombe was named best on ground, taking the award out in a losing side.
