In an effort to enhance communication skills and empower individuals in the region, Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC) recently hosted two dynamic three-hour workshops in mastering challenging conversations.
Tailored for both professional and personal situations, the workshops were held at the Wulanda Recreation Centre in Mount Gambier and drew 73 enthusiastic participants from diverse sectors across the Limestone Coast.
The engaging sessions, delivered by a local facilitator, covered a range of topics including effective listening, understanding communication styles and barriers, and conflict resolution.
The session was part of a series of initiatives supported by the State Government’s Regional Workforce Connector and Collaboration Program, designed to address workforce gaps and support Limestone Coast businesses in their journey to become employers of choice.
RDALC chief executive David Wheaton said some of the feedback received confirmed the importance of the workshops.
“The popularity of the workshops, and the feedback received, highlights the importance of enhancing communication skills for professional development and growth in the workplace,” he said.
Communication is one of the five pillars in the ‘Employer of Choice’ Toolkit developed by Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast, which can be downloaded via their website rdalc.org.au/employer-of-choice.
The resource offers valuable insights and tools for creating an inclusive, caring, and thriving workplace.
