Adate has been earmarked for the third biennial Beachport Crayfish Festival in 2026.


The March 26 event will showcase the best of the rock lobster industry within the Limestone Coast region.


As before, a range of locally made food and wines will be incorporated within a program filled with art, music and children’s activities.


All arrangements for the 2026 festival will be in the hands of a committee of locals.


The first such festival was staged in 2022 and was enthusiastically embraced by a large gathering of locals and visitors.


The financial success of this year’s festival meant $23,000 could be distributed to local groups and charities and the Beachport New Year’s Eve fireworks.


Around two decades ago, the Beachport Festival By The Sea was a popular annual drawcard.


It culminated in 2000 with a free outdoors evening concert alongside the Beachport jetty by 60 members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
