Accused to remain in custody

The 35-year-old man accused of murdering a 44-year-old woman in Mount Gambier in July will remain in custody until his next court date in January.

Luke Raymond Simpson appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court via video link from custody on Monday.

He was charged with the murder of Mount Gambier woman Rachel Martin after her body was found at a house in Chestnut Close.

The prosecution said it was still awaiting the post-mortem report and successfully requested a 12-week adjournment.

Mr Raymond is yet to enter a plea.
