Adams drafted to Gold Coast

Young Mount Gambier footballer Oscar Adams has landed on the Gold Coast, having been selected in the AFL Mid-Season Draft.

The former local football player has been given an AFL lifeline as he was selected in the 2025 Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

Adams was selected at pick seven in the draft with the Gold Coast Suns picking up the tall defender.

The 21-year-old was previously on an AFL list after being drafted by St Kilda at pick 51 in the 2021 NAB AFL Draft but was delisted in 2023.

For the past two seasons Adams has been playing for his junior club Glenelg in the SANFL and was a part of their 2024 premiership side.

The former South Gambier product has played six games for Glenelg, averaging 9.5 disposals and 2.7 marks a game.
