The latest COVID outbreak at a Millicent nursing home has prompted it to source eight agency staff from Adelaide.
The additional capital city workers have been enlisted by Boneham Aged Care Services to cope with more than 20 COVID cases among its aged residents.
The presence of the temporary personnel has released the regular Boneham staff to provide additional support to residents and especially those temporarily confined to their rooms.
Boneham provided an online statement on Tuesday morning.
“We are currently still holding at 23 confirmed COVID cases on site at Boneham at the moment,” the statement said.
“Clinpath PCR tested all residents on Monday and at the time of writing we have received two-thirds of those results, all negative to date.
“The remaining third will filter through across the course of Tuesday.
“We are monitoring one resident who was exposed early to a positive resident in case they become positive.
“All residents are well with only a handful remaining mildly symptomatic.
“Our management team will commence planning for a phased reopen of visiting and activities in some wings hopefully towards the end of the week.
“This is of course, subject to no further new cases arising in the meantime.”
