B GRADE – KALANGADOO V GLENCOE
The 2022 Mid South Eastern Football League finals continue this Saturday in the preliminary final at Kalangadoo with a spot in the decider up for grabs.
Both teams have meet twice in the minor home and away season round and the Magpies have the points on each occasion but the form in recent weeks of the Murphies will hold sway.
Also, both sides have some experienced players and will look to them to guide and nurture the younger players in pressure cooker situations.
Home ground advantage may help the Magpies, but finals are a different game and if either side can get the score on the board early it will be a game of catch me if you can.
Kalangadoo will need Scott Agnew, Chris Mules and Matt Auld to be on fire while Glencoe’s Tory Weaver, Ben Curran and Jed Matthews will also need to have a spring in their step.
SENIOR COLTS – ROBE V KONGORONG
Robe has been the trend setter in the Senior Colts competition for a long time and a lot of teams envy that because the way they go about it.
The Roosters have the wood over the Hawks but come Saturday it is a new game and anything can happen.
Kongorong also has some good quality players and have dual Malseed Medallist in Maverick Cooper who will be supported by Will Von Stanke, Mackye Baron and Cohen Janeway.
While the seasiders have a good spread of players as well and could be boosted by some university students that may come back.
Robe’s Flynn Peel, Oliver Haggett and Max Roberston will be a key to get over the line come final siren.
JUNIOR COLTS – GLENCOE V HATHERLEIGH
This will be a good solid game of junior football with both sides wanting another crack in the big dance.
The Murphies have had good wins over the Eagles in the two times they have faced up in the minor rounds.
Each side has a distinctive style and will need to have that on cue right from the first bounce or it will be a one-sided game.
Glencoe needs Lachlan Brierley, Kallan Price and Hamish Gordon to be focused and switched on while for Hatherleigh Oskar Howell, Ethan Marshall and Winston Figg are on song.
