Alleged sex offender bailed

AMount Gambier woman has been bailed to reappear in court later this year after being charged with a raft of sexual offences.

The revelation comes after Mulga Street Primary School sent a letter to parents and caregivers advising that a former volunteer at the school had been arrested and charged with child sexual offences.

Mulga Street Primary School sent the letter to parents late last month advising of the arrest and urging anyone with information to contact SA Police.

The letter was sent from the school’s principal Anna Copping and advised the person had not volunteered at the school since last year.

A SAPOL spokesman last week confirmed the woman was charged with knowingly being in possession of child exploitation material, communicate to make a child amenable for sexual activity and two counts of procuring a child for sexual activity.

She was bailed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on December 12.
