Amazons score first win

Some great games were played in the third round of the 2021 Mount Gambier Netball Association season on Saturday with some surprising scores.

A Grade was headlined by Amazons’ first win, which came in thrilling circumstances.

Amazons was forced to contend with a fighting Vicis outfit and both defensive lines were hard to break.

The B2 competition showcased some great junior talent coming up through the ranks.

Each of these players had a strong game up against some stronger opponents and came off with a huge smile on their faces.

The biggest grins were enjoyed by Zodiacs and Saints.

In the 17 and Under games, Hobitz Blue and Hobitz Red accounted for their opponents in their respective games.

They were both tightly contested with possession of the ball being challenged at every pass and shot for goal.

A close game took place between Zodiacs and Hobitz in the 15 and Under competition with only three goals separated them at the final whistle.

Zodiacs Gold walked away as 20-goal victors over Vicis after some tough mid court work which required all the players to do their bit.

Saints and Intruders had a great game with only three goals separating them at the final whistle.

It was a low-scoring affair with defensive pressure allowing each side to gain possessions.

A tough game played by everyone and a great game to be on the sidelines watching.
