Arrests made over city break-in

Six people have been arrested after a break-in at a Mount Gambier business.

Police will allege that about 2.10am last Wednesday, patrols were called to a shop on Commercial Street West after reports of an alarm activation.

Police found that a gift shop had been broken into and items stolen from inside.

A search of the area was conducted and the six suspects were located on the corner of Bray Street and Boandik Terrace.

The males ranging in age from 16 to 26 years old were all charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft.

They were all bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity around business premises is asked to call the Police Assistance Line immediately on 131444.
