Former Mount Gambier artist Cassie Zaccardo has recently collaborated with bath and body products company Oh Deer Sugar on a special project.
Oh Deer Sugar co-owner Sharni Rosser approached Ms Zaccardo about illustrating eight animals from Happy Tails Animal Rescue Brisbane, with the designs to be used on stickers for the packaging of special ‘Double Drop Waffle Bath Bomb Boxes’ which help the animals find fur-ever homes and raise funds for the animal rescue centre.
“I like anything to do with animal rescue,” Ms Zaccardo said.
“I thought it was a great cause.”
Two boxes featuring one dog and one cat are released each Wednesday morning at 9am until the end of July, with $3 from each box sold donated to the animal rescue centre.
Inside each box is a custom waffle bath bomb for the featured animal, a ‘Herd Favourite’ waffle bath bomb and an information card about the animal.
Ms Zaccardo was supplied with the animal photos which she transformed into cartoon digital creations on her iPad.
“It was really fun, but probably something really different as well because it was taking the photo and turning it into a more simple, cartoon-y design,” Ms Zaccardo said.
“I wanted them all to look uniform so I had to create them in a bit of a different style to what I normally do.
“It was a bit of a challenge to work out how I was going to do it, but it was cool because it was something different to what I normally do.”
Ms Zaccardo is a keen artist who specialises in custom portraits and works with charcoal, watercolour or digital.
