Artists to share 2020 perspective

The Riddoch Arts and Cultural Centre is calling for submissions for the My 2020 Poster Exhibition.

Entrants can design, draw, collage, photograph, print, paint, stitch, graph or even crayon a movie poster that captures the year that has been, through the artist’s eyes.

“2020 has been a big, strange, wild year for everyone, but it is our individual stories that give this time meaning,” Mount Gambier City Council Arts and Culture Development Officer Serena Wong said.

Entries are now open and everyone is eligible to enter to tell their story through a creative movie poster piece in a medium of the artists choosing.

“You can live anywhere, be any age, tell any tale, just work it into a movie poster design,” Ms Wong said.

Entries can be submitted via The Riddoch website at www.riddochartgallery.org.au or in person at the centre at 1 Bay Road.

Artists have until November 30 to submit their works for a chance to win a $100 voucher to spend at The Riddoch retail shop.

Winners will be chosen by popular vote and all entries will be displayed in the community gallery at The Riddoch from December 19 to March 7.

“This is a celebration of the good times and the terrible times, a chance to reflect, to get creative and to share your story,” Ms Wong said.
