Assistant coach celebrates milestone match in style

OneFortyOne Pioneers assistant coach Bryan Green celebrated his 100th game on the coaching bench on the weekend.

Green is an active coach within the local basketball association, coaching a number of representative Lakers teams.

He has also been a major contributor to different roles within the Pioneers basketball club.

His achievements include being the first ever women’s head coach in the CBA in 1990, team manager in 2003 and 2004, including for the men’s 2003 conference and national championship team, and serving as women’s assistant coach since 2019.

OneFortyOne Pioneers head coach Matt Sutton was full of praise for his assistant.

“Bryan is a beloved member of the OneFortyOne Mount Gambier Pioneers team,” Sutton said.

“Bryan has a lot of experience at many levels of the sport, which has been important for our program.

“It’s a magnificent milestone for someone that has a lot of passion for the program and the sport of basketball.

“Big thanks, Greeny.

“We want to thank and congratulate Bryan for his contribution to our basketball club, which spans over a few decades and for his #PioneerPassion and commitment.”
