The new lights for the Ken Williamson green at Port MacDonnell were officially declared operative for the first time on Sunday night, in very cool conditions. A good number of players played social bowls in ideal conditions, with two games of 10 ends played.

The Port MacDonnell Bowling Club also held its annual general meeting with Paul Weir announced as president for a second term. Sharon Perryman will take the ladies vice presidency, with Tim Wrightson taking on his first term as the men’s vice president.

Other positions include Heather Richards as secretary, Nellie Lucas as treasurer, and board members Robert Hutchesson, Jennie Tilley, Kevin Henderson and Jan Dowdell. Victor Perryman and Kel Butler were announced as patrons of the club, with Kevin Henderson to take the role of bar manager, and Chris Richards as director of greens for the club.

Jennie and Ben Tilley will continue as tournament secretaries with assistance from Bill McGregor. Winter bowls will be under the guidance of Robert Hutchesson on Wednesdays and Kevin Henderson on Sundays.
