MORE than 130 visitors and 65 caravans will converge on Casterton next month, when the Trakmaster Off Road Caravan Club ‘0’ Birthday Bash hits town.
Co-ordinated by the club, in conjunction with local businesses and clubs in the host town, in addition to providing a catch-up for members, the annual Trakmaster gathering brings an economic boost to the community it visits, raising money for distribution to local organisations.
There are a wide variety of activities at the gatherings including information sessions that are relevant to off-road caravans and remote area travel.
The October gathering will see members arrived in Casterton on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 October, staying at the caravan park until Tuesday, 28 October.
During their stay, club members have a jam-packed schedule including a catch-up with the Casterton RSL Sub-Branch for a Soldiers Breakfast, visit to the Pub in the Scrub at Dergholm, discover the birthplace of the Kelpie with a visit to Warrock Homestead, spend a couple of ‘Happy Hours’ at the Casterton Sandford Football Netball Clubrooms and discover local talent with Artists of the Valley at Gorman’s Art Gallery.
The club also provides members with a list of local attractions and hospitality venues in the host town, encouraging them to spend locally.
The off road caravan club was formed in 2003 2003 by a small number of Trakmaster owners who had common interests in remote area travel and having a lot of fun along the way, there are now around 300 member vans (600 individuals).
