ON FRIDAY, 21 February, 13 enthusiastic students travelled to Hamilton for the Glenelg Division Swimming competition.
The day began with the long-distance swimming events, where our swimmers put in strong performances.
Holly James secured third place in the 400m freestyle, Ruby James claimed second in the 200m freestyle and Kirby Vise earned third in the 100m freestyle.
Our swimmers continued their success in the 50m events; Mia Carter taking first place in the 50m Butterfly, Ruby James second in both the 50m freestyle and backstroke and Jett Lykke second in the 50m backstroke and breaststroke.
The day concluded with the relay events, where our team of Zoe McDonald, Holly James, Ruby James and Mia Carter delivered impressive results, second in the U14 medley relay and third in the U14 freestyle relay.
Thanks to her outstanding performances, Ruby James was named age champion for the 12-13 girls’ age group – a fantastic achievement against tough competition.
Additionally, we extend our best wishes to Mia Carter and Jett Lykke, who have qualified to compete at the Greater Western Regional Swimming Sports.
A huge thank you to all the families who supported our swimmers, assisted with timing.
Congratulations to the 2025 Casterton Secondary College swim team on a fantastic day.
