Football South Australia is excited to be celebrating the Barry Maney Group Premier League grand finals for both men and women this weekend.
We anticipate a great turnout as some of the best local talent competing at Casadio Park, the home ground of the International Soccer Club.
Congratulations to the teams from Apollo, Blue Lake, International, Gambier Centrals and Millicent United for qualifying for this weekend’s finals.
We wish all participating teams the very best of luck, and our Football SA Family is eager to bring you all the action.
This year has been a strong year for football in the Limestone Coast region.
I am very pleased both Gambier Centrals and Naracoorte United have received funding through The Power of Her Grant, with Gambier Centrals securing $48,300 to upgrade lighting and Naracoorte United receiving $23,000 for the installation of barrier nets and fencing at their soccer club.
We are committed to working with Local Government and clubs to upgrade facilities in the region over the next few years to improve the environment for players and cater for the continued growth in the game.
Participation rates across various programs have also been outstanding.
Our Football in Schools program welcomed 186 participants, the School Holiday programs saw 151 new participants, and our Futsal initiative has already drawn 22 teams with 147 participants.
Additionally, our Development Centre for talented young boys and girls in the region has grown to 49 participants, reflecting the continued interest and growth in the region.
We expect the representative teams from the LCFA to continue to improve year on year.
I would like to acknowledge our naming rights partner the Barry Maney Group for their continued investment in football within the region.
They are of course supported by Coopers and Fennell Forestry.
The first round of scholarships made a profound impact on those successful applicants and the second round will be presented at the grand final.
Once again, thank you to Wendy Fennell for her contribution to the region.
We remain committed to supporting football in the Limestone Coast and are excited about the future, as we shift our focus toward investing in club infrastructure to ensure long-term growth and success.
