Big week for the ‘Board Rider’

ASTRONG field of 18 players and a Stableford round which was won by the ‘board rider’, also known as Brett Van As (27) with a good score of 39 points from an unlucky Frank McInerney (31) on 38 points.

There were a few players also in the 30s, but not good enough to get a mention.

It appears our young player, Hayden Munro, found his new handicap of 19 a little hard to play on.

Nearest the pins went to Ewan Herring on the 2nd, Neville Lee on the 8th, Murray Frost on the 13th and Steve Munro the 17th.

Women’s

JOINT winners of the 11-hole comp were Marion Cowland and Shirley Koch.

Winner of the 18-hole comp was Shirley Koch from Sandra McGann.

Yvonne Rees took a trifecta of nearest the pins on the 2nd, 13th and 17th, while Marg Ferguson took the 8th.

Will check next week if I am allowed to put actual scores in.

Regrettably, I did not get the Saturday result sheet, but can just remember the Board Rider, Brett Van As, did it again this time with a score of 45 points from Pat Hegarty (23) on 41 points.

Brett had a desire to get his handicap down to 25 and I can reveal that he has exceeded his aim and is now playing off 23.

Will try and get the other results for next week.
