Big wing flown in

The Castec Rural Supplies Mount Gambier Pioneers have announced the signing of athletic American wing Kaden Archie.

In his first year as a pro Archie played in Mongolia where he averaged 19.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game to go along with his 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks.

Prior to his first pro stint Archie had completed his college career with three years at Georgia Southern University where he averaged a tick under 10 points per game, three rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Head Coach Richard Hill said the import would be a welcome addition to his NBL1 South conference team.

“Kaden will bring versatility and athleticism to our team and at 6’6” will be able to fill valuable roles at both ends of the floor,” he said.

“Kaden had a tremendous high school career where as an All American he had numerous NCAA Div 1 offers. He’s now ready to fulfil his early promise.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to work with Kaden, he has enormous potential and unique gifts.

“Mount Gambier, our style of play and our program is perfect for him at this stage of his career.”

Pioneers memberships will be on sale soon with a number of fans being able to access pre-season games and tournaments located throughout the Limestone Coast in the lead up to the start of the 2025 season next month.
