Senior Men
Gambier Centrals v Blue Lake
Blue Lake will head to MGA Park to take on Gambier Centrals on Sunday, with Centrals getting the victory over the Rangers last time, winning 3-2.
Both sides have been fairly solid this season but Centrals have not been playing their best over the last five games, only winning once.
Blue Lake have been good at getting points in their matchups as they have gone pointless only once in their last five games.
The Rangers should be fresh and ready to play after having the bye whereas Centrals will be a bit fatigued, which has been a problem for them with their recent run on injuries.
If Centrals want to get the three points they will need to play like they did in the second half of last week’s match where they completely dominated the pitch.
Naracoorte United v Apollo
Apollo will head to Naracoorte on Sunday to take on Naracoorte United.
Last time these sides played each other it was a competitive match with Apollo just coming away with the three points in a 1-0 victory.
Naracoorte has not had the best season so far, losing last week to Inter and remaining winless for the season.
On the other hand, Apollo has had some ups and downs and currently sits third as they battle to make that top two spot on the ladder before finals begin.
Apollo last week had a good win but struggled a bit in the second half against Centrals, doing enough in the first half to come away with the win.
Apollo Coach James Stephenson will be looking to get the most out of this game to help his side boost their goal difference on the ladder.
“I really respect Naracoorte for everything they do in the league, they are struggling this year with numbers and lack of players so other teams are going there and getting big wins for big goal percentages,” he said.
“We have to go into the game and try to get as much goal percentage as we possibly can which we do not like to do generally but with the competition being so close Naracoorte’s the team this year that unfortunately you have to go and get a result and get some goals on the board for that goal difference.”
Senior Women
Millicent United v International
International will head to Millicent on Saturday to face Millicent United looking for a win as last time they met they shared the points with a three-all draw.
Inter should be heading into this game with a lot of confidence as they finally picked up their first win last week and should be confident.
Millicent have been struggling over the past few games, only picking up one point in the last three games and are coming off a tough 1-0 loss to Blue Lake.
This is shaping up to be a great match up if both sides are at their best this weekend.
Gambier Centrals v Blue Lake
Blue Lake will take on Gambier Centrals on Saturday at MGA Park and it has been a while since these sides played, back in the first week of May when Centrals defeated Blue Lake 3-2.
Both sides are very similar statistically on the ladder with Blue Lake in second and Centrals third with a one point difference between them.
Their record is similar during the last five rounds, both winning three and losing two.
Blue Lake should be confident after last week and will be out for revenge after their round 3 defeat with Centrals looking to improve on their performance from last week.
Naracoorte United v Apollo
Apollo will make the trip to Naracoorte on Sunday to take on Naracoorte United.
Apollo smashed Naracoorte last time these sides played, taking a 10-1 victory.
This season Naracoorte have struggled as they are now the only team without a win whereas Apollo have been undefeated.
As Apollo continues to dominate the league they will be looking to take care of business as they have their sights set on the finals.
Naracoorte, however, will be looking to make the upset and take some points off Apollo.
