Throughout this week there have been a lot of golf events on in the Limestone Coast, so it was not surprising only 45 players fronted up at Blue Lake Golf Links for a South East Veterans round.
However, the weather was fine and the course good and local member Rob Ellis blitzed the First Division with 43 points.
He finished well ahead of Robe’s Brian Foreman on 36 points and Terry Chant on 35.
The Second Division was a closer affair with a three-way countback on 39 points, taken out by Kingston’s Arthur Niejalke from Millicent’s Tank Thompson and Blue Lake’s Richard Neale.
Nearest the pins were Rob Harkness and Barry Brook and the Ross Orchard went to Peter Edwards and Brenton Speck.
The ball rundown was for 31 or better, while the scribe did see Chris Carr of Beachport do a one handed drive which travelled 150 metres much to the amazement of his group.
The next outing is the AGM at Attamurra on Monday, March 21.
