Bowls season opens

The Penola Bowling Club’s 2020-21 season opened with 42 bowlers hitting the greens recently.


Life Member Margaret Hanel placed the mat, before women’s singles champion Meredith Hinze rolled the first kitty and club champion Marcus Devereux sent down the opening bowl.


The first names to taste success in the summer of bowls were Meredith Hinze, Margaret Hanel, Don Messenger and Hayden Hoad winning the day with two wins.


Peter Starick, Wendy Lowe, Sue Lamont and John Davidson were the runners up.
