Millicent will host several high level government bureaucrats on Monday. The South Australian Local Government Grants Commission will visit Wattle Range Council at 11am to hold discussions with elected members and staff, and with any members of the public in attendance at the meeting.
It is chaired by former Port Lincoln Mayor Bruce Green. The Grants Commission is a statutory authority responsible for advising the State Government on the distribution of Commonwealth Financial Assistance Grants to local governing authorities in South Australia.
Grants are provided under legislation and the Grants Commission is required to hold public hearings in connection with its recommendations.
The purpose of these public hearings is to provide clarification of the Grants Commission’s operations.
