Burrandies in mourning

The directors and staff of Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation in Mount Gambier are mourning the death last month of their chief executive Aunty Robyn Campbell.

They have issued a statement on behalf of themselves as well as the larger Indigenous community and those non-Indigenous people who worked closely with Robyn.

“At this time Sorry Business is occurring,” stated the Burrundies directors and staff.

“This is a time when we come together and support each other as we move through the grieving process as a community.

“We will be connecting with our cultural values and practices and need to ensure that we have the capacity to support the family, those close to Robyn, and each other.

“This means that we need time and space to grieve and process what has happened.

“This may mean that some of the business that Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation and other organisations cover may be slowed down or stopped completely until further notice.

“We ask for your patience and understanding at this time.”
