Busy week at Millicent

Perfect conditions greeted players at the Millicent Bowls Club last week.

With only one week of competition left, the Millicent Bowls Club Night Owls season is nearly over.

The competition has been fortunate to only lose one week to bad weather after big effort from all bowlers who have followed covid rules and managed to keep our club free of the 
virus.

It was nice to see all teams were present and there were no forfeits.

Mick Pedler was hot form for Rovers collecting five touches.

He was joined by Scrappers’ Manny Fuente and Tant Tigers’ Scott Bowering who both had three touches.

In Red Division the Mossies team of George Hobson, Garry Wilson, Peter Hyland and Jim Hyland defeated Bits and Pieces 28+7.

Untouchables 26+5, Rovers 26+3, Tant Tigers 26+1 and Somerset Legends 24+12 were the other winners.

Maccas topped Blue Division thanks to the fine efforts of Ray Doecke, Malcolm McRobert, Graham McRobert and Simon Cooper.

They defeated X Factor 27+10, while Grand Hotel 26+16, Try Hards 25+2, Awesome Foursome 25+2 and Somerset Seniors 24+1 also tasted success.

The Pups took out White Division after Todd Craig, Jez Jones, Luke Ferguson and Sam Kent defeated Sunnies 27+5.

Other winners Scrappers 26+2, Miss Fitts 26+8, Mayura Mob 26+4 and Bedford Butterflies 24+7.

A 25-player field registered to play a round of 2-4-2 bowls and leading the pack were Terry Barnes and Robert Chambers.

Barnes and Chambers topped the charts with a score of 33+9 went to

Runners-up for the day with a score of 33+7 went to Malcolm McRobert and David Reichelt.

Other winning teams were, Terry Lonergan and Kym Stewart 32+8; Iain Campbell and Bryan Roper 30+3; Frank Cooper and Peter Scanlon 30+2, Garry Wilson and Lyn Scudds 30+1.

The Veteran’s Singles will be played next Wednesday.
