Carbon farming workshop interest

Farmers wanting to learn more about greenhouse gas emissions from their farm are encouraged to attend a Limestone Coast Landscape Board’s Introductory Carbon Farming workshop.

Howeber, Limestone Coast Landscape Board Carbon Outreach Officer Edel Stoner said there had already been great interest from local farmers and land managers.

“I think the workshops come at just the right time when farmers and land managers recognise the need to understand more about how the GHG reporting requirements will trickle down and impact their farming enterprise,” she said.

“It is important for the economic growth of the Limestone Coast that farmers know what to expect through their supply chains.

“We want our local farmers and land managers to be able to make informed decisions around the opportunities available to them in the carbon space. These workshops will clarify this.”
