CAR FIRE INVESTIGATED
Police are investigating a suspicious car fire in Mount Gambier.
About 2.25am on Thursday emergency services were called to a car park in Percy Street after reports that a Toyota station wagon was on fire.
A police spokesperson said the car had all of its wheels removed and was on jacks.
“The fire was extinguished soon after and may have been deliberately lit,” the spokesperson said.

In other police news, a man has been charged following a fatal crash on the Dukes Highway on Friday.
About 8.45am on Friday, emergency services were called to the Dukes Highway at Wirrega after reports that a silver Mitsubishi Pajero that had been travelling east had lost control and rolled.
The driver, a 55-year-old Victorian man, was not injured, but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
His passenger, a 53-year-old Victorian woman died at the scene.
Major Crash officers attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
About 4pm on Friday the driver was arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He was bailed to appear at the Bordertown Magistrates Court on March 26.
BODY FOUND ON BEACH
Police are investigating after a body was located on the beach at Carpenter Rocks on the weekend.
About 1.45pm on Sunday police were called to Carpenter Rocks after reports a person was located deceased on the beach.
A SAPOL spokesperson said while it was early in the investigation, police do not believe the death to be suspicious.
Police will be preparing a report for the coroner.
