Care partnership boost

OneFortyOne has announced a new partnership with Mount Gambier In Home Hospice Care Inc, committing $20,000 over the next two years to support the local organisation’s vital services.


This collaboration ensures that In Home Hospice Care can continue delivering compassionate, holistic care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses who wish to spend their final days at home, while the organisation seeks stable support from the state government.


In Home Hospice Care (IHHCare) Manager Sandi Elliott expressed gratitude for the partnership.


“This contribution from OneFortyOne gives us some security in our ability to continue providing personalised care to those in need in our local community,” she said.


“We are thankful for their support during this critical time.”


IHHCare is a free service, providing people who are palliative and wish to remain in their home environment. the option of compassionate care and personalised support that also extends to their family, carers, and friends.


“Our hospice care is about helping people make the most of every moment. It’s about retaining quality of life and independence whilst remaining in the comfort of familiar surroundings” Ms Elliott said.


“Our dedicated volunteers complement existing healthcare services by offering social companionship, emotional support, and assistance with daily living activities.”


OneFortyOne Corporate Affairs Manager Charlene Riley highlighted the company’s commitment to the community.


“We believe in supporting initiatives that make a positive difference in people’s lives,” she said.


“Mount Gambier In Home Hospice Care volunteers are providing a unique and important service, not only enhancing quality of life for those dealing with a life-limiting illness, but for friends and family who are also impacted through the palliative care journey.”


“It’s our intention to give some support to IHHCare while they work to secure a commitment to ongoing funding.”
