Casterton Sandford v Nangwarry
Nangwarry will head across the border to take on Casterton Sandford on Sunday for Limestone Coast Women’s Football League Round 4 action.
Both sides definitely have not had the best of starts to the season, with the Cats winning one game and the Saints still searching for their first.
Despite being 1-2 the Cats have still been very competitive as they have not experienced a defeat greater than 20 points with last week’s being 18 points and the week before that only 17 points.
In this game they will be looking to get back into the form they had in round 1 against the Dees.
Hopefully the fact they are playing on home soil help them find that opening round spark.
Nangwarry, on the other hand, have not had many positives this season as they are yet to score even a point.
However as the season progresses hopefully the Saints can continue to improve and pick up a win.
I predict the Cats should come out on top in this match up.
North Gambier v Millicent
North Gambier will take on Millicent this Sunday at Blue Lake Sports Park.
Both teams had great wins last Friday night with the Saints picking up their first win and the Tigers continuing to dominate with their second in a row.
So far this season the Tigers have not looked close to losing yet with both their wins being over 60 points while only conceding six points.
Given how well the Saints played last week they may give the Tigers a run for their money, particularly seeing how well their defence held last week.
However, North’s strongest area has been their forward line and it was especially on point Friday night with their goal kicking accuracy.
If Millicent wants a shot at taking down the Tigers it’s going to start in the backline with them shutting down the dynamic Tigers attack.
With that being said, I still think the Tigers will pick up the win given how strong their midfield and defence has been this season.
Kybybolite v Penola
Kybybolite and Penola will travel across the border to Casterton to face off this Sunday.
Kyby will be heading into this game with an undefeated record while the Eagles have had a win and a loss this season.
Despite being 1-1 the Eagles were close to picking up another win on Friday night but fell short.
The Tigers, on the other hand, had a massive win last week that would have definitely boosted their confidence after a shaky first two weeks.
Despite both teams’ records I believe these sides are fairly evenly matched which should make for a great game.
I believe this will be a game that will go down to the wire with the Tigers picking up their fourth straight win.
South Gambier v Kongorong
South Gambier will host Kongorong this Sunday as the Dees look for their first win.
Both sides have not been too dominant this season with the Hawks only picking up one win so far.
Kongorong are coming off a pretty tough loss to North last week whereas the Dees had the bye so they should be well rested and ready to play.
South have had a few good quarters this season but have struggled to put it all together for a whole game.
Kongorong showed a lot of positive signs in their round 2 win but struggled last Friday night where they failed to score.
Both sides will be hungry to get on the winners’ list this week which will make a competitive game.
But I think the Hawks will just get over the line in this game and pick up the win.
