Casterton Sandford v South Gambier
South Gambier will be on the road again as they head to Casterton in a bid to get back on the Limestone Coast Football Netball League winner’s list.
It was a tough game for the Dees last Saturday night as they struggled during the match against Millicent, with goal kicking accuracy a major factor in the loss.
The Dees kicked very poorly, finishing the game with three goals and 14 behinds.
Casterton on the other hand had a great win over the Doggies at home in a 35 point result.
After tough night overall, South will be looking to reset and forget about that game.
The Dees will be hoping to get better production out of Todd Reid and Brayden Kain after they both went goalless against the Saints.
The Cats will seek another good performance from Callum Currie and Colby Munro in this game. Both have been great for the Cats this season and a major factor in their success.
This match could go either way given Casterton has been very good at home thus far with two wins while South will absolutely come out strong looking to get back on the winners list.
Those factors will make for a competitive and thrilling game.
East Gambier v West Gambier
The Doggies will be back in town on Saturday as they host West Gambier at the Kennel.
Both sides are coming off tough losses last week with the Roos falling short by a point while East was smashed by Casterton, so both will be keen for a win this week.
Since their round three win over the Saints, the Doggies have struggled to build off the win having lost their last two games.
After West’s disappointing loss at home they will be hungry to get back on the field and make up for the loss on Saturday.
In last week’s loss both Caseys – Jack and Samuel – were solid for the Roos and will look to build off that performance on Saturday.
East will need to play some more consistent footy as that was the main factor in the loss, with the side struggling to kick goals in the third term of the match.
They cannot afford to do that again against another quality side in West.
It’s highly likely that West will rebound on Saturday and come away with the win.
North Gambier v Millicent
North Gambier will host Millicent on Saturday at Vansittart Park as both sides look to build off their last wins.
The Saints are coming off a low scoring win over the Dees on Saturday night while the Tigers will be keen to get back on the field after having the bye.
The Tigers will be keen for a win this week to help them leapfrog into the top four as they currently sit fifth.
A good match up to watch in this game will be North’s Toby de Wit against Millicent’s back line.
Last week Millicent did well to shut down South’s tall forwards so de Wit will certainly have to be at his best on Saturday
Down the other end of the field, Millicent young gun Harry Gibbs will look to cause problems for the Tigers as he has started the season well in the forward line. Having kicked 11 goals already, Gibbs will be in for a big game on Saturday.
This looms as a competitive contest which will no doubt go down to the wire, but the Saints should just be a little too good for the Tigers and secure another win.
