THE 2025 Limestone Coast Football Netball Season officially launches tonight, but the Cats have their own celebrations marked for this Friday night, with jumper presentations and unveiling of the refurbished clubrooms on the agenda.
Cat president, Shane Foster said the clubrooms’ new kitchen would get its first official workout this Friday night, with players, supporters and members invited to have tea and see the presentation of the 2025 uniforms.
“We’ll have teas on from 6pm, when the juniors, our Under 14.5s, will be presented with their new jumpers,” Foster said.
“Then the Under 17s will have their jumpers presented with the seniors, from about 8pm.
“We’re really excited to have everyone come down and see the revamped rooms, with new floor coverings and the new kitchen really bringing the whole building up.”
Foster said the Cats’ final pre-season practise match on Friday night was a positive sign for the footballers, heading into the new season, with a healthy win over the Hamilton Kangaroos.
“It’s nice to have a win over a Hampden side … they’re a bigger league, a stronger league and the standard of footy was excellent.
“They had a few players out but so did we with various commitments and a few niggling injuries, so it was a great game to watch.”
He said like the previous home game just two weeks ago, the crowd attendance and enthusiasm was outstanding.
“It was like a regular home game of footy … cars all around the ground and the barbecue and booth were flat-out all night, which was really terrific.”
