Celtic Academy honour

Aformer Mount Gambier soccer player has taken another step closer to fulfilling his dream of playing in the big leagues this week when he was invited by Celtic FC to train and live the life of an academy player in Glasgow.

A collaboration between Sacred Heart College and the European club allowed former local Freddie Muller and three other students to have the experience of a lifetime to travel to Scotland, attend games and train with Celtic academy players.

Freddie, 16, currently plays in the under 18 National Premier Leagues for Adelaide City and is having a stellar year.

His team sits top of the table after six games and will be looking to cement finals action at the end of the year.

The four Sacred Heart students will train at least twice a day while studying at St Ninians as well as enjoying some sightseeing in Glasgow.
