SWDFNL – Netball
THE A Grade game got off to a challenging start and though we had some bright moments, Westerns played a strong, disciplined game, putting us under constant pressure.
Our defensive end led by Charlotte and Meg did their best to disrupt the opposition’s rhythm, making some key interceptions.
Sadly we just could not reward their efforts in our attack end.
We will focus on maintaining consistency throughout four quarters and sharpen up our shooting under pressure.
We did not get the result we wanted, but we saw heart and effort out there.
Take the lessons, stay hungry, and come back stronger next game. This is only the start of an amazing season to come.
17 & UNDER
THIS season has been the first in years where Dartmoor have been able to field a 17 & Under side, which is super exciting for the club and our developing juniors.
From the moment the first whistle blew you could see the determination on all of the girls faces to give it a red-hot crack and that’s exactly what they did.
For a team that has never played together, not even at trainings, the game ran a lot better than expected.
Westerns have always had very strong netball sides so it came as a bit of a surprise seeing the end score being 22 to 34, Westerns’ way.
From here the girls will be working hard to really gel together and being aware of each other on the court.
The club could not be prouder of their result and look forward to seeing the strong improvement walking away from round one.
