Charity chop helps Kids with Cancer

Mount Gambier woman Mackenzie Robb is getting the chop for cancer, donating 25cm of her hair while raising funds for the Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia.

Monique Buckingham from Evolve Hair & Beauty will cut Miss Robb’s hair off on May 26, which will then be sent to NSW where it will be custom-made into a wig.

She has currently raised over $600 of her $800 goal through Facebook donations which will go to help the families of children with cancer.

“I have an upcoming pie drive which should help me reach my target, so I am stoked about that,” she said.

“I have always been told I have such thick natural hair and I have just been growing it for a few years so that when I do cut it I will have hair left but I am still nervous about the change.

“I work with kids a lot by dance teaching at Hype which I love so this is a cause close to my heart.

“I chose this charity because all the hair donated stays in Australia whereas a lot of foundations send their hair overseas to get their wigs made.”
