There was plenty of farm fun to be had at Echo Farm on Sunday, with the facility hosting a farm-fest.
Echo Farm owner Linda Hay said the sold-out event was a major success.
The day included performances from children’s favourite George the Farmer and there were plenty of farm animals for youngsters to interact with as part of the Umbrella Festival series of events.
“We were really happy with how it turned out and we were able to house 180 people because we could open up the marquee,” Mrs Hay said.
“Everyone was leaving happy which is due in part to the weather and kids being able to pat and feed the animals, although I am starting to think seeing all the animals was more of a highlight than George the Farmer.
“It is lovely to see so many young families out and about and we are pleased because there are a lot of people here that have never been to the farm.
Mrs Hay said it was the first time the Umbrella Festival had occurred in the Limestone Coast which had now extended to October to accommodate all the events.
“The Umbrella festival is put on by Music SA who promote the event and donate funding to hire the music acts giving them a chance to get out and perform,” she said.
Mrs Hay said Echo Farm was also fortunate to be part of the South Australian Tourism Great State Voucher initiative.
“People can go online and receive a $100 voucher from the State Government you can spend here for a self-guided tour during the week from now until Thursday, October 14 this year,” she said.
