Church up for auction

The former Beachport Uniting Church goes to auction on January 4.

There is expected to be strong bidding for the Foster Street building which sits on a 1011 square metre block.

It was erected in the 1960s as a place of worship and includes a kitchen and toilets under the main roof.

The stone building sits one street back from the beach and near the CBD.

The auction is scheduled for one of the busiest days on the Beachport social calendar as there is also the street market and duck race at the Pool of Siloam.

Dwindling attendances prompted the final service in June.

The former St Nicholas Anglican Church in Railway Terrace was sold at auction for $220,000 in 2019.
