City Council votes finalised

Vote counting has been finalised in the Mount Gambier City Council, after preferences were distributed.

There were 18 candidates contesting eight councillor positions, with Mayor Lynette Martin elected unopposed.

Ben Hood (1572 first preference votes), Max Bruins (1186) and Sonya Mezinec (1012) all reached the quota of 875 votes required for election, with preferences required to determine the other five vacancies.

Incumbents Kate Amoroso (389), Frank Morello (379) and Paul Jenner (566) were re-elected, joined by Josh Lynagh (764) and Mark Lovett (314).
