Mount Gambier City Councillor Kate Amoroso has resigned, with her departure effective immediately.
Her resignation was announced in a short statement by Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin on Tuesday.
“On Tuesday afternoon 15 April 2025 council was advised of the resignation of Councillor Kate Amoroso, effective immediately,” Mayor Martin said.
“Kate was elected to council in November 2018. We thank her for her contribution to council for the past six and a half years and we wish her the best for the future.
“Council will not be required to fill the casual vacancy the resignation creates, as the current circumstances meet the relevant criteria under the Supplementary Elections Policy adopted in accordance with section 6(2)(b) of the Local Government (Elections) Act 1999.”
