Agathering of more than 500 locals and visitors congratulated three worthy citizens when they congregated at Centennial Park for the annual Beachport Australia Day 2025 breakfast on Sunday.
As before, key roles in the staging and catering for the free cooked breakfast were undertaken by the Lions Club of Beachport and Rivoli Bay in conjunction with Wattle Range Council.
The formalities included the hoisting of the Australian flag and the singing of the National Anthem.
Kintore ward Councillors Sharon Cox and Richard Cassidy were in attendance to present awards, while former Thornlea grazier Frank Boylan once again acted as the master of ceremonies.
The former Robe and Beachport councillor has lived in Adelaide for several years but returns to Beachport each January for this duty.
Roger Smith was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year award while the Active Citizen of the Year was Di Roach.
Sienna Sutherland was the Young Citizen of the Year while a snakes information session was recognised as the Kintore Ward event of the year.
Wattle Range Mayor Des Noll conducted a naturalisation ceremony for three local residents.
