Coastal creation chosen
for Christmas card

Member for Barker Tony Pasin’s annual Barker Christmas Card competition has been another success with hundreds of entries received from across the electorate.

Students from Reception to Year five were invited to submit artwork that represented Christmas in their region.

“We have had a fantastic response, with outstanding entries coming in from across the electorate. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at them all, although it was not an easy task to select the winning entries,” Mr Pasin said.

Four entries were selected by Mr Pasin to feature on his 2021 Christmas Cards, one from each region of the electorate: the Barossa, the Limestone Coast, the Riverland and the Murray Mallee.

An artwork by Holly Varga, from the Robe Primary School was chosen to appear on this year’s Barker Christmas card.

Holly was presented with a prize of Derwent Artist Pencils in a gifted wooden box to assist her in developing her obvious artistic talents as part of the end of year school presentations.

“I congratulate all those students who took the time and effort to create artwork that demonstrated what Christmas means to them, in their region,” Mr Pasin said.
