The Tenison Woods College Stage 1 Creative Arts (Musical) class recently presented the musical Annie at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.
In the depths of the 1930s, Annie is a fiery young orphan girl who must live in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan.
Her seemingly hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy businessman, Oliver Warbucks.
The students’ hard work and dedication certainly paid off, as they put on an outstanding performance for the socially distanced audience members who attended the near sold-out show.
They worked not only as actors, but also lighting, hair and makeup and costume designers.
The college choir also volunteered its time and expertise to be part of the chorus for the show.
The students taking part also thanked Eliza Suggate, Beth Creedy, Jacqueline Zaccardo and Meghan Lynch, as well as the supporting staff who helped to make the show a success.
