Penola and district celebrated the tenth birthday of its Community Bank recently.


Community Bank Penola & District opened on June 26, 2014 after many years of hard work from a band of dedicated volunteers who wanted to establish a locally-owned and operated banking alternative in their community.


Since then, the branch has grown to more than $60m in business, from more than 850 customers and more than $325,000 invested back into the community.


The local board of directors, branch staff, customers and community marked the branch’s tenth year of operation with a birthday party celebration at Vintage Cafe.
